Meet Your Country Kin

Love country? You're already one of us.

Country Kin is the community behind UK Country Events. A place to find people who love the country scene too, see who's heading to the same events, make plans and turn up knowing a few more faces.

Whether you've been part of the country scene for years or you've only just bought your first pair of boots, you're welcome here.

Going with friends? Brilliant. Going solo? Even better reason to see who else is heading along.

Find a Meet-up

Meet-ups make it easier to turn “I'd love to go, but I've got nobody to go with” into actual plans.

Join other Country Kin for pre-drinks, arrive together, find a camping crew, meet other solo-goers or simply arrange somewhere to say hello once you're there.

You can see who's joining before deciding whether it's for you.

Find your kind of people

Meet Your Country Kin

Create your Country Profile and tell people a little about you, what you're into and what you're here for.

Maybe you want new country-loving friends. Someone to drag to gigs with. Festival buddies. Other people who line dance. Or perhaps you're single and wouldn't mind meeting someone along the way.

There's no swiping and no pressure to connect. Just more opportunities to find people you might actually enjoy meeting in real life.

Meet Your Country Kin

Country is better together

Country Kin isn't here to become another social network you spend hours scrolling.

The point is to get off the internet and into the crowd.

Follow people you might want to bump into again, see where your Country Kin are heading next and privately let someone know you'd like to meet them.

And once you're a member, you'll also find links to our wider community spaces from your dashboard.

Community guidelines

The Country Kin Code

Good people make a good community.

Country Kin should be somewhere people feel comfortable turning up alone, introducing themselves to somebody new and being exactly as country as they want to be.

You don't need to agree on everything. You do need to treat each other well.

Be good kin

Be friendly, welcoming and respectful. Remember there's a real person on the other side of every profile, message and meet-up.

Make room around the campfire

New to country? Going solo? Shy? Don't know the dances? Doesn't matter. Country Kin isn't a clique. Help people feel included rather than making them prove they belong.

Interest isn't an obligation

Someone being friendly isn't automatically flirting. Someone saying they'd like to meet isn't a promise of anything more. Respect people's boundaries, don't pressure anyone for attention or contact, and take a no gracefully.

Be who you say you are

Use an accurate profile and represent yourself honestly. Don't impersonate somebody else, deliberately mislead people or create fake accounts.

Look out for your kin

We're here to make meeting people in real life easier, but use the same common sense you would anywhere else. Meet publicly, look after yourself and your friends, and if somebody seems uncomfortable or needs a hand, don't ignore it.

Don't make it your marketplace

Country Kin is for connection, not unsolicited selling, spam, recruitment or repeatedly promoting something to members. Relevant country events and community activity belong here. Spam doesn't.

No hate. No harassment. No creeps.

Harassment, bullying, threats, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment or deliberately making someone feel unsafe aren't part of this community. If somebody crosses the line, report it. We can remove content, meet-ups or accounts where needed.

Leave people glad they met you

That's really the whole thing. Be someone who makes another person think: “I'm glad I went.”

You might find someone for the next gig. A whole new festival crew. A line-dancing mate. A date. A best friend you haven't met yet. Or simply someone to say “I'll meet you by the bar” so you don't have to walk in alone.
