Black Stone Cherry

Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry bring their Southern-fried blend of blues, groove and hard rock to Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

The Band

Formed in 2001 by lifelong friends Chris Robertson and John Fred Young, the band grew out of the small town of Edmonton, Kentucky. John Fred is the son of Richard Young from The Kentucky Headhunters, a connection that shaped the band's sound alongside influences like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters and Cream. Completed by Ben Wells and Jon Lawhon, the four-piece built a devoted following through relentless live shows before signing to Roadrunner Records in 2005.

Since their self-titled debut in 2006, Black Stone Cherry have become renowned for their touring, sharing stages with the likes of Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company, as well as headlining Download Festival in 2013. Their gigs are loud, riff-heavy and full of Southern rock energy, drawing fans of classic and modern hard rock alike.

Who It Suits

This show will appeal to anyone who loves guitar-driven rock with soul, from long-time followers who've tracked the band since their early Roadrunner days to newer fans discovered through their festival headline slots.
