Black Stone Cherry - the Celebrate Tour
Formed in Edmonton, Kentucky back in 2001, Black Stone Cherry grew from a friendship between guitarist and vocalist Chris Robertson and drummer John Fred Young into one of Southern rock's most enduring bands. Ben Wells and Jon Lawhon soon joined on guitar and bass, and the four-piece built a devoted following long before signing to Roadrunner Records in 2005.
Southern Rock Roots
John Fred Young's family ties to The Kentucky Headhunters run deep - his father Richard Young played rhythm guitar in the Grammy-winning band, and Black Stone Cherry even wrote and rehearsed in the same farmhouse. Alongside influences like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters and Cream, that heritage shaped the raw, riff-driven sound the band is known for today.
A Live Reputation Built on the Road
Black Stone Cherry made their name on stage, from a triumphant homecoming gig for 1,500 fans after their debut album, to a limited-edition live recording from London's Astoria and a Best New Band win at the London Classic Rock Awards. They've since shared arena bills with Def Leppard and Whitesnake, toured Europe with Nickelback, supported Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company, and headlined Download Festival - proof of a band built for big, loud rooms.
