Black Stone Cherry
Black Stone Cherry bring Kentucky grit and arena-sized riffs to the stage, mixing Southern rock swagger with hard-hitting choruses built for a big singalong.
Southern Rock Roots
Formed in Edmonton, Kentucky by long-time friends Chris Robertson and John Fred Young, the band was later joined by Ben Wells and Jon Lawhon. Young's family ties to The Kentucky Headhunters, along with influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters and Cream, shaped the band's sound from the very start, right down to rehearsing in the same farmhouse used by their heroes.
From Local Shows to International Stages
After building a loyal following back home, the band signed to Roadrunner Records and released their self-titled debut in 2006, returning to Edmonton to play for a crowd of over 1,500. A live album recorded at London's Astoria capped off their first international tour, and the band picked up a Best New Band award at the London Classic Rock Awards.
Big Tours, Bigger Crowds
Black Stone Cherry made their name on the road, sharing arena stages with Whitesnake and Def Leppard, supporting Nickelback across Europe, and touring alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company. They went on to headline the Download Festival, cementing their reputation as one of rock's most reliable live acts.
