Black Stone Cherry
Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry bring their thunderous Southern rock sound to Newcastle Upon Tyne, promising the kind of raucous, guitar-driven show that has built them a devoted following across the UK.
The Band
Formed in Edmonton, Kentucky, by lifelong friends Chris Robertson and John Fred Young, the band grew out of a shared musical heritage – John Fred is the son of Richard Young from The Kentucky Headhunters, and the group cite Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters and Cream among their formative influences. Joined by Ben Wells and Jon Lawhon, they honed their sound in the same farmhouse rehearsal space once used by the Headhunters before breaking through with their self-titled debut in 2006.
Known For Their Live Shows
Black Stone Cherry have built their reputation on the road, from a triumphant homecoming gig in front of 1,500 fans to arena tours alongside Whitesnake, Def Leppard and Nickelback, plus a headline slot at Download Festival. Their gigs are loud, energetic and built for fans who want a proper rock and roll night out.
